Define the requirements for new products and new product lines across hardware, materials, software, and services for the Formlabs portfolio
Drive the overall product strategy, define long-term roadmaps, and align R&D efforts with key market opportunities
Lead new technology commercialization, including launch planning, pricing, sales/channel strategy, and product messaging
Scale product lines by developing and driving product initiatives and aligning leaders and cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious strategic and growth targets
Define, develop, and deliver a profitable, high-performing product portfolio by conducting market research, technology scouting, competitive analysis, and sizing top growth opportunities
Scope and staff new product concepts, evaluate feasibility, define performance criteria, and set clear business objectives
Investigate and define the key performance criteria for advanced 3D printers and the photopolymer and thermoplastic materials used in them, drawing on engineering (technical) and product (business) experience with various additive manufacturing techniques
Make critical tradeoff decisions between cost, performance, reliability, manufacturability (DFM), and timeline
Contribute to the development of new 3D printing process technologies and identify new methodologies for process efficiency (e.g., automatic powder removal from SLS parts)
Strategically prioritize features and tasks for products using internal tools, tracking and reviewing the product direction frequently
Define business objectives throughout the product lifecycle, from go-to market strategy through end of life
Recruit, Develop, and Manage a high-performing team of product managers and leaders, providing structured guidance and regular coaching
Strategically prioritize and adjust resource allocation across projects and programs
Telecommuting allowed 2 days per week
10% of domestic and/or international travel required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in NanoEngineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study and five years of experience in the job offered or related occupation
Must have five years of experience in each of the following: product roadmap development
designing, developing, and launching additive manufacturing systems - hardware, software, and materials
cost analysis for hardware manufacturing required to vet new products
additive manufacturing new materials development and portfolio management
