We are seeking an experienced Head of Product Engineering to own technical delivery, organizational health, and engineering culture for a scaled, high‑transaction software platform. This is a senior leadership role with direct influence over how products are built, how teams operate, and how technology supports business growth. In this role, you will lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams across web, mobile, platform, and API development, while serving as a strategic partner to Product and Operations leadership. You’ll shape technical strategy, guide architectural decisions, and drive operational excellence as the organization scales its marketplace, integrations, and customer‑facing technology. This is a seat at the leadership table for a hands‑on engineering leader who thrives in high‑impact environments and balances execution, quality, and long‑term platform thinking.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead, grow, and mentor engineering teams across web, mobile, platform, and API domains, including onshore and distributed/offshore teams
  • Develop senior engineers and managers into future technical and organizational leaders
  • Establish clear growth paths, expectations, and accountability across the engineering organization
  • Own architectural direction across core platforms, external integrations, and partner-facing APIs
  • Drive technical decision-making around scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Evaluate build vs. buy vs. partner tradeoffs with disciplined risk assessment
  • Define and execute a strategy for AI-assisted engineering
  • Lead adoption of AI tools and workflows (code generation, automated testing, accelerated CI/CD)
  • Guide teams through organizational and cultural transitions toward AI-enabled development practices
  • Own engineering execution: delivery cadence, release quality, incident management, and regression reduction
  • Improve operational outcomes through stronger observability, reliability standards, and post-incident learning
  • Ensure engineering outcomes align with real customer impact, not just delivery velocity
  • Partner closely with Product and Operations leadership to align technical strategy to business priorities
  • Serve as engineering owner for strategic initiatives involving internal teams, partners, and customers
  • Lead technical diligence and integration planning for partnerships and acquisitions

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 5+ years in an engineering leadership or management role
  • Proven experience leading distributed or cross-functional engineering teams at scale
  • Strong technical depth in backend systems, APIs, and platform architecture
  • Demonstrated success improving engineering quality (fewer incidents, faster recovery, more reliable releases)
  • Experience driving organizational change and mentoring teams through process and tooling transformations
  • Ability to communicate clearly with executive stakeholders and translate technical complexity into business impact
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments with a bias toward structured execution

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Jira/Atlassian tooling, customer support integrations, or complex partner APIs
  • Experience supporting large-scale live operations with immovable deadlines
  • Prior involvement in acquisition due diligence or technical integration planning
