A senior design leadership role owning a global publishing and media platform used by millions of users and thousands of editors. This role sits at the core of how content moves from idea to live, shaping both the tooling behind the scenes and the end user experience across multiple brands. It’s a balance of platform thinking, front end experience, and team leadership, with real scope to define how multi-brand systems evolve.
Job Responsibility:
Own the design of a large-scale publishing and media platform, covering CMS, editorial tooling, front end templates, and design systems
Shape the full content lifecycle, from planning and creation through to consumption
Lead a major front end redesign and rebuild, improving performance, accessibility, and user experience
Define how a centralised platform supports multiple brands, balancing standardisation with flexibility
Work closely with Product and Engineering on architecture, performance, and technical trade-offs
Lead and develop a team of 6 – 10 designers
Balanced role, roughly 2/3 leadership and delivery, 1/3 strategy
Requirements:
Experience leading design on complex platform or system-level products
Strong front end product thinking, not just internal tools
Comfortable working closely with engineering and making technical trade-offs
Experience in multi-brand or multi-tenant environments is highly relevant
Able to connect design decisions to user and business outcomes
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping shape how things should work
System thinker, but grounded in end user experience
Background in content, media, or storytelling products is helpful but not essential
