Job Description

About Bark: Bark is an online services marketplace connecting customers with professionals across over 1,000 categories. Operating in nine countries including the UK, US, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, we're transforming how people find trusted service providers for everything from home improvement to professional services. Our platform uses cutting-edge technology to match customers with the right professionals quickly and efficiently. With a global team of over 220 people, we're currently undergoing an exciting transformation: migrating from a lead generation model to a full marketplace platform with subscription based pricing. As a profitable, PE backed scale up (EMK Capital), Bark offers the best of both worlds: the agility and innovation of a fast moving business combined with financial stability and resources for growth. We recently launched our new marketplace model in Australia (Q4 2025) and are preparing for rollout to the UK and US markets in 2026. You'll have genuine ownership, responsibility, and the opportunity to shape our commercial strategy during a pivotal transformation phase with the chance to make your own contribution to our journey. About the Role: We’re looking for a Head of Product to own the Consumer proposition end-to-end — from value proposition and product-led growth loops through to the day-to-day experience our consumers have when they come to Bark to get a job done. This is not a hands-off strategy role. We want a player-coach: someone who sets the direction, grows the team underneath them into stronger PMs, yet is ready to step into complex initiatives and shape them directly. You’ll move fluently between vision, people, and execution — and you’ll make your teams faster by unblocking them, giving them clarity, and raising the bar on how we work. This is a transformation role, not an iteration role. We’re not looking to polish the current consumer experience - we’re rebuilding the model from the ground up, moving from a lead-gen business to a subscription marketplace. You’ll be key to shaping what that looks like for our consumers, and you’ll need to move at the pace of a business that’s genuinely changing under its own feet.

Job Responsibility

  • Strategy and long-term ownership: Value proposition, Product-led growth loops, Repeat usage and LTV, Moats, Consumer product strategy
  • People and team: Grow your PMs, Shape ways of working, Raise the craft bar, Design the team, Accelerate autonomy
  • Execution depth: Consumer app, Repeat usage strategy, Growth loops, Intelligent consumer acquisition, AI-powered comms and search tools

Requirements

  • Contributing to Bark's wider strategy
  • You’re a senior product leader who enjoys the player-coach balance of setting strategy, growing a team, and staying in the work
  • You're a credible senior product leader. You've led Product in a fast-paced online business at scale, you contribute to company strategy rather than just functional strategy, and you communicate clearly from ICs to C-suite
  • You bring real product craft. You understand marketplace or consumer demand-side dynamics, you're fluent with product-led growth loops, and you work confidently across qual and quant evidence
  • You grow people. You've made PMs stronger, and they'd vouch for it
  • You operate well in change. You're AI-first as a leader - fluent with agentic workflows and AI-driven prototyping - and you can hold direction under ambiguity without waiting for certainty to act
