Job Description

Head of Procurement - Direct Materials plays a pivotal role in advancing the overall direct materials strategy of the organization by contributing to several key areas such as Cost Optimization and Efficiency, Supply Chain Resilience and Risk Mitigation, Innovation and Competitive Advantage and Cross-functional Collaboration and Alignment.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement global category strategies for direct materials to optimize cost, quality, supply security, and sustainability
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the direct materials procurement team to achieve strategic and operational objectives
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers while managing strategic supplier relationships and contracts
  • Drive cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements through market analysis and supplier performance data
  • Establish and execute risk management strategies, including supplier diversification and contingency planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, R&D, finance, and supply chain to align procurement with business goals
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier sustainability outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, industry standards, and company policies across all procurement activities
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and global integration of procurement processes and category management practices

  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes, including strategic sourcing and supplier lifecycle management
