Job Description

Optimo Care Group is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to lead and oversee the delivery of PBS across two of its subsidiaries, CFT Care and Spectra Care. Across these services, we support over 70 adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex support needs. We are looking for a dedicated professional with strong experience in Positive Behaviour Support who is committed to improving quality of life through evidence-based behavioural support. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior PBS professional to shape and develop the organisation-wide PBS strategy across both organisations, lead a skilled PBS team, and provide clinical oversight for individuals with complex behavioural support needs. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, operational teams and external professionals to ensure ethical, person-centred and best practice PBS approaches are embedded across services within CFT Care and Spectra Care.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement the Positive Behaviour Support strategy across CFT Care and Spectra Care
  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership and operational teams to embed PBS across services
  • Analyse service data and feedback to monitor effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Support the development of PBS-related policies, systems and training programmes across both organisations
  • Provide line management, clinical supervision, mentoring and coaching to Behaviour Analysts and PBS Practitioners
  • Support Behaviour Analysts with the management and development of PBS Champions
  • Maintain clinical oversight of all PBS cases across services
  • Ensure the PBS team works in line with the latest research, guidance and best practice
  • Provide specialist behavioural support for individuals presenting high-risk behaviours of concern
  • Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments and develop Positive Behaviour Support plans
  • Develop risk management strategies and provide behaviour skills training to staff teams
  • Support complex and complex+ service transitions
  • Work collaboratively with the people supported, their families and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Participate in monthly external clinical supervision

Requirements

  • MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Positive Behaviour Support, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, or equivalent
  • UKBA (Cert) and current UKSBA membership
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior PBS role
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and line management within PBS teams
  • Experience leading the implementation of a service-wide PBS approach
  • Experience supporting individuals with high-risk behaviours of concern
  • Strong skills in functional assessment, PBS plan development and behavioural intervention
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong clinical judgement in complex situations
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate sensitive information clearly and appropriately
  • Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and cloud-based systems
