Job Description

This is a senior leadership role for a policy professional with strong UK and EU policy experience, capable of shaping and delivering a high-impact policy agenda. You will play a pivotal role in influencing policymakers, regulators, and key stakeholders, ensuring the organisation’s voice is clearly represented across the UK and European landscape. As Head of Policy, you will lead the development and execution of policy strategy, translating member priorities into credible, evidence-based policy positions and effective advocacy activity.

Job Responsibility

  • Developing and delivering a clear UK and EU-focused policy strategy aligned with organisational objectives
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with UK government departments, EU institutions, regulators, and external stakeholders
  • Leading responses to UK and EU consultations and producing policy briefings, reports, and position papers
  • Managing advocacy campaigns to influence policy outcomes at national and European level
  • Engaging closely with members to identify policy priorities and represent their interests effectively
  • Managing specialist policy committees, working groups, and advisory forums
  • Leading and developing a high-performing policy team
  • Contributing to the wider leadership and strategic direction of the organisation

Requirements

  • Significant experience working in UK and EU policy or public affairs
  • Experience within a membership organisation, trade association, regulatory body, or not-for-profit environment
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Able to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when required
