Job Description

You’ll lead a high-impact, global team and play a crucial role in shaping the future of Westwing by building people systems and processes that serve as the foundation for high-performance. This is a role for a strategic doer: someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get hands-on as they are designing global strategy. Someone who challenges the status quo, champions excellence, and dares to push for efficiency by leveraging AI and automation. If you thrive by building a People Operations function that is as precise, data-driven, and aspirational as our brand, you've found your team! This position is permanent and based in Munich.

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of 11, across 3 locations globally, while also getting hands-on if needed
  • Carry out audits and ensure ongoing accuracy, process diligence and excellent SLAs
  • Collaborate effectively across People teams, Finance and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment across countries and good communication flow
  • Continuously improve People Operations and Payroll processes with a data- and impact-driven mindset, leveraging automation and AI where it makes us better
  • Act as the central contact for topics related to audit, compliance and sustainability

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in People & Culture in a high-performance environment, including 2+ years in a leadership role, with a proven track record in People Operations and (system) projects
  • Good knowledge of payroll and social security guidelines within Europe
  • Experience with European labour law and (senior) stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to deliver results of excellent quality within ambiguous and dynamic environments while staying flexible and reliable
  • Independent, structured and precise way of working with a high sense of responsibility and discretion
  • Passion for innovation, leveraging AI-driven automation and modern tools to constantly raise the bar for efficiency and quality
  • Fluency in English and German with strong written and verbal communication skills

What we offer

  • A high-performance culture built on trust, feedback and collaboration
  • An inspiring, international environment that empowers you to think big, take ownership, and grow beyond your comfort zone
  • A flexible hybrid setup with 3 office days per week
  • Work-from-anywhere opportunities for up to 4 weeks per year
  • 30 days of paid holiday
  • A beautiful, centrally located, dog-friendly office with inspiring spaces, a sunny terrace, and good food
  • Exclusive discounts - 40% off Westwing Collection, 20% off third-party brands (each on non-reduced items), 10% Family & Friends discount, plus special-occasion vouchers
  • Wellbeing support through mental health resources, sports memberships, and preventive care
  • Sustainable mobility options with discounted public transport and JobRad
  • Support for working parents, including our on-site Westwing Wichtel daycare and a partnership with multilingual provider Elly & Stoffl
  • One annual Social Impact Day to give back to a cause you care about
