Job Description

Meta is seeking a Head of Payments & FinTech Partnerships to work with all key industry partners on high priority product workstreams. This role will be responsible for building and managing relationships with payment service providers, networks, financial institutions, fintechs, and other key partners to enable seamless payment experiences for Meta's users and products. This role involves leading Meta's engagements across the complex payments & fintech ecosystem in India, managing all aspects of strategic partner relationships, collaborating with external and internal teams, and driving decisions to optimize our global business.

Job Responsibility

  • Establish a deep understanding of the payments ecosystem and partner landscape, and map our industry strategy accordingly. Identify and assess market opportunities, evaluate potential partners and drive new workstreams forward
  • Develop, manage, and grow relationships with all of our key payments & fintech partners. Drive initiatives from inception to launch and scale by leveraging C-suite relationships and effective internal partnerships
  • Negotiate and sign partner contracts. Work closely with legal, finance, privacy, and other key stakeholder groups to get deals done that drive value for all parties

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in payments
  • Experience working in payments: digital merchant, fintech, network, issuer, or PSP/acquirer, or leading payments & fintech initiatives at a major tech company
  • Experience building and leading projects with internal and external partners, including other tech companies, payment processors, payment networks, fintechs, and local payments providers
  • Capacity to work independently and prioritize competing projects based on impact, deadlines, and stakeholder needs
  • Demonstrated experience executing in a fast-paced environment with several internal cross functional teams and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in partnerships management, including relationship building, business development, negotiations, and contract signing
  • Experience communicating and presenting to technical and business audiences

  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

  • Define and execute moderate and long-term strategy for Card Payments and Network partnerships
  • Directly manage and expand current network and embedded payments partnerships
  • Working with network/wallets/PSPs and internal stakeholders to develop roadmap and capabilities for interchange optimization, approval rate improvements and fraud prevention
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and emerging card processing and payment companies, with the aim of creating new product features for US Consumer Cards
  • Work with legal, ops, tech, product teams to develop partner pipelines, manage contract negotiation, launch roadmaps to commercialize integrations and provide ongoing vendor oversight
  • Provide business development support on partnership opportunities on card benefits, commerce and value proposition
  • Collaborate with various Citi teams (ventures, research, retail bank, services) on firm wide initiatives related to payments, open banking, commerce and fintech partnerships
  • Serve as SME for cards ecosystem including networks, VAS, processors, wallet providers, acquirers across both credit and debit rails
  • Engage with internal and external entities on legal/regulatory developments and act as Citi SME card payments related disruptions
  • Manage a team of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions) as well as negotiate and make decisions on issues/activities having critical impact/influence on company revenues, capital, or business operations
