Job Description

You are an experienced payments product leader who can shape the future of how customers pay in a fast-growing iGaming environment. Our client is seeking a Head of Payments Product to steer the payments product team across multiple markets and platforms. You will balance hands-on delivery with strategic thinking, owning the roadmap, architecture decisions, and cross-functional collaboration. In this role, you will drive improvements to payment orchestration, work closely with PSPs and internal stakeholders, and ensure our customers experience reliable, fast, and secure payment flows. The position sits in Malta, with a hybrid work model. Note: relocation is not offered; this role is local to Malta.

Job Responsibility

  • Steer the payments product team across multiple markets and platforms
  • balance hands-on delivery with strategic thinking, owning the roadmap, architecture decisions, and cross-functional collaboration

  • lead a small but talented team, mentoring product managers, guiding technical delivery, and building robust processes for requirement capture, gap analysis, and reporting

  • participate in technical discussions with PSPs
  • turn insights into actions that move the payments product forward
  • partner with the Director of Payments, Payments Performance Manager, and other leaders to provide dashboards, KPIs, and decision-ready insights to guide strategy
  • educate the team and stakeholders on payment orchestration capabilities and limitations
  • quickly identify and diagnose issues that fall outside PaymentIQ by understanding different platform ecosystems
  • lead, develop and elevate the payments product team to ensure strong domain knowledge, structured processes, and improved analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • ensure the team not only executes tasks but also improves continuously—enhancing insights, operational processes, and product understanding
  • establish robust frameworks for gap analysis, product review, reporting, and technical documentation
  • oversee PSP integrations and payment solutions, ensuring alignment with technical, financial, operational, and risk expectations
  • provide structured feedback on PSP performance in collaboration with the Payments Performance Manager, ensuring actionable insights for the Director of Payments
  • bring strong product and technical knowledge to shape requirements, optimise integrations, and ensure the quality of implementations
  • support the Head of PSP Relationships by bridging technical knowledge gaps within the organisation
  • participate in technical discussions with PSPs and translate outcomes into clear, concise actions for the Payments Team
  • work with the Director of Payments to develop improved dashboards, KPIs, and insight-driven reporting that supports strategic decision-making
  • weekly presentations from Payments Team progress, highlighting bottlenecks, dependencies, and actionable recommendations

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in payments product management within iGaming
  • advanced working knowledge of PaymentIQ and payment orchestration
  • strong understanding of payment routing, risk rules, PSP integrations, and multi-platform environments
  • strong management skills, especially with PSP integrations
  • excellent communication skills—able to balance detail with clarity
  • can coach and develop team members
  • strong analytical mindset and familiarity with reporting tools and KPIs
