Job Description
As the Head of Merchandising for the Women’s Category, you will be the strategic leader driving the vision, execution, and performance of all women’s fashion product lines across Complex’s marketplace and brand platforms. You’ll be responsible for developing exclusive, first-to-market assortments while building a diverse and culturally attuned product ecosystem. This role blends creative direction, data-driven strategy, and business ownership, with the goal of scaling revenue and influence in women’s fashion.
Job Responsibility
Own and evolve the overall merchandising strategy for Women’s across fashion, footwear, and accessories
Lead the development of a seasonal and long-range product pipeline rooted in cultural insight, trend forecasting, and audience relevance
Partner with leadership to define category goals, KPIs, and revenue targets
present pipeline performance in executive reviews
Oversee curation and development of proprietary product in collaboration with influencers, talent, in-house design, and brand partners
Guide the procurement of trend-forward product across seasonal and core assortments
Champion product exclusivity, speed-to-market, and assortment differentiation
Leverage your industry network to expand a culturally diverse roster of vendors, artists, designers, and collaborators
Continually onboard new partners to the Complex platform, ensuring innovation and brand alignment
Serve as senior relationship lead across all major brand partners in the women’s category
Lead cross-functional coordination with Project Management, Marketing, and Operations to execute on product launches and campaigns
Align merchandising calendars with marketing narratives, festival campaigns, and influencer activations
Ensure timely delivery of samples, inventory, and marketing assets in tandem with internal teams
Drive revenue growth and margin performance for the Women’s category through data-informed assortment decisions
Represent the Women’s category in leadership meetings, line reviews, and quarterly planning
Requirements
5–7 years of senior-level merchandising, buying, or product strategy experience within fashion, ideally with a focus on women’s streetwear, contemporary, or cultural fashion
Demonstrated success in building product pipelines, negotiating brand partnerships, and owning category P&L
Deep understanding of youth culture, fashion trends, and consumer behavior
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, fast-moving calendars
Proficient in Google Workspace and Keynote
strong communication and presentation skills
Expertise in retail and e-commerce preferred
