As the Head of Marketing for Australia, you will lead the next chapter of growth for one of Australia’s most loved brands. You will set the direction for all marketing activity in Australia, leading a team across growth, creative, brand, and retention. Your role is to lead a high performing, full funnel marketing function where brand, creative, and performance work seamlessly to drive short term results and long term brand value.
Job Responsibility:
Build and execute an Australia marketing strategy that drives revenue, strengthens brand performance, and acquires customers profitably
Own the full marketing budget, overseeing forecasting, pacing, investment decisions, and reporting to leadership
Champion a data led approach, using insights to refine strategy, optimise targeting, and improve efficiency across the funnel
Lead and optimise the full channel mix across Meta, Google, YouTube, TV, OOH, referrals, and partnerships to drive efficient acquisition and revenue growth
Strengthen organic discovery through SEO and integrated content programs
Partner with the Global Head of Retention on local CRM, retention, and advocacy programs
Refine channel strategy through data, audience insights, and structured testing to improve effectiveness and efficiency
Identify opportunities within existing and emerging channels to unlock incremental growth
Lead a unified marketing team across growth, brand, creative, production, and CRM
Guide channel specialists, creatives, strategists, editors, and production talent to deliver strong storytelling and high performing creative across key platforms
Build a culture of experimentation, fast iteration, and insight led decision making to lift CVR, AOV, ROAS, and long term brand strength
Build and execute a structured experimentation roadmap across channels, creative, landing pages, and lifecycle touchpoints
Implement A/B, incrementality, and MMM testing to drive continuous improvement
Stay across emerging platforms, formats, media innovation, and algorithm shifts to ensure Koala stays competitively sharp
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in performance or growth marketing
Proven track record of scaling a D2C e-commerce brand and managing large-scale advertising budgets to drive paid channel growth
3+ years of direct experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing marketing teams
Deep, hands-on expertise across paid marketing mix, in particular Paid Social (Meta, TikTok), SEM (Google Ads)
Experience across SEO, CRM, Affiliates, TV/BVOD also a strong plus
Advanced in Excel and highly proficient in analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau)
Strong understanding of brand marketing principles and demonstrated capability in overseeing a brand and local creative function
