Job Description:

We’re seeking a dynamic Head of Key Account Management to lead the national treatment center engagement and launch of risto-cel, a potential best in class gene therapy in sickle cell disease. This is a high-impact commercial leadership role at the forefront of transforming care for patients with sickle cell disease. As the Head of KAMs, you’ll hire, train, and oversee a team of experienced account leaders who serve as the “conductors” of each treatment center relationship—driving site onboarding, operational excellence for communications and patient delivery, and patient referrals. This team will bring together all the critical functions to partner with treatment centers, ensuring every site is fully prepared to deliver our therapy and every patient has a seamless path to treatment. We’re looking for a proven people leader with deep cell and gene therapy experience—in CAR T or sickle cell gene therapy—who can combine leadership with hands-on execution. This is a chance to lead from the front, build a world-class network, and help bring a transformative therapy to the patients who’ve been waiting the longest.

Job Responsibility:

  • Hire, lead, develop, and inspire the national team of Key Account Managers responsible for relationships with authorized treatment centers ensuring seamless patient access while building deep institutional connections with administrators, clinicians, and operational stakeholders
  • Drive excellence in site onboarding, ensuring business readiness and optimize gene therapy delivery infrastructure
  • Build strategic partnerships with treatment centers and referral sites to optimize patient identification, referral pathways, and treatment initiation
  • Serve as the commercial “face” of the treatment network—representing the company with providers, administrators, and other key stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Field Reimbursement, Medical Affairs, Patient Operations, and Patient Services to deliver a unified site experience
  • Monitor site performance metrics, identify barriers, and implement solutions that enhance site efficiency and patient access

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • advanced degree (MBA, MS, PharmD, or equivalent) preferred
  • 15+ years of commercial experience in biotech or specialty pharmaceuticals
  • 3+ years in cell or gene therapy (CAR T or equivalent)
  • proven leadership and people management experience
  • deep understanding of treatment center operations, referral dynamics, and patient access challenges in rare or complex therapies
  • strong cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort working in a fast-moving, launch-focused environment
