Job Responsibility

  • Lead the development and execution of an integrated international engagement strategy, with a core focus on Oceania
  • Ensure coordination with broader Government Relations strategy and alignment with Australian Government international policy settings
  • Identify strategic opportunities to leverage Brisbane 2032 to strengthen regional relationships and Australia's global sporting and diplomatic profile
  • Drive collaboration with government and industry stakeholders to maximise international trade, investment and business engagement opportunities linked to Brisbane 2032
  • Design, coordinate and deliver inbound and outbound trade missions aligned to Games priorities and international engagement objectives
  • Lead engagement with international chambers of commerce, bilateral business councils and key industry bodies
  • Lead the development and delivery of protocol frameworks for international engagement activities
  • Manage end-to-end protocol planning and execution for Head of State, Ministerial and VIP visits
  • Ensure all international engagements are delivered in accordance with diplomatic protocols and in coordination with relevant government agencies
  • Prepare high-quality briefings, talking points and stakeholder materials to support senior-level international engagements and meetings
  • Work across Brisbane 2032 operational teams to support delivery of international-facing initiatives

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in international relations, diplomacy, trade or global stakeholder engagement
  • Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, protocols and cross-cultural communications
  • Strong understanding of government trade, investment and diplomatic frameworks, particularly within the Australian context
  • Proven experience engaging with international stakeholders, including government, multilateral organisations and business networks
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Experience managing high-level international visits and protocol requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level materials
  • Tertiary qualifications in international relations, public policy, international business or a related field
  • This role is likely to require a regular commitment to international and domestic travel
