Job Description:

We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Human Data to lead and scale Prolific’s human data supply team. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive strategy and execution across participant acquisition, onboarding, training, and upskilling of global participants and specialists domain experts. You will oversee the curation of domain experts and AI taskers to meet the growing demands of large language model (LLM) training, research, and other AI-focused initiatives. This is a leadership position that demands operational expertise, strategic vision, and a hands-on approach to managing a complex human data supply ecosystem. You will collaborate across teams to ensure that our human data operations deliver value, quality, and scalability for our AI customers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and execute the vision and strategy for Prolific’s human data operations, aligning with company-wide goals
  • Lead and grow a high-performing team focused on participant acquisition, onboarding, enrichment, support, and task performance monitoring
  • Build a scalable operating model to ensure a high-quality supply pipeline that meets the diverse needs of AI customers
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and verification of participants, including domain experts and taskers, ensuring scalability and diversity
  • Drive the development of comprehensive upskilling programs to meet emerging AI customer requirements
  • Implement robust quality assurance processes to monitor task accuracy, consistency, and participant engagement
  • Partner with the Learning Design team to create role-specific training and accreditation frameworks for AI taskers and domain experts
  • Ensure training initiatives are seamlessly deployed via Prolific’s platform and optimized for participant success
  • Develop certification programs that align with the technical requirements of LLM and AI lifecycle tasks
  • Leverage data analytics to monitor participant performance, supply-demand alignment, and task quality metrics
  • Continuously refine operational processes to ensure efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with product teams to enhance platform features that improve participant experience and task fulfillment
  • Work closely with internal teams to align supply capabilities with customer needs
  • Act as the primary point of contact for strategic AI customer projects, ensuring alignment between supply and project deliverables
  • Build strong relationships with SMEs, ensuring access to specialized knowledge for domain-specific tasks
  • Pioneer innovative approaches to human data operations, leveraging emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance participant engagement and performance

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in operations, workforce management, or a related field, ideally within AI, tech, or high-growth, fast moving environments
  • Expertise in scaling human data or talent supply ecosystems, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and diversity
  • Expertise in developing an accredited AI research and development workforce suitable to meeting current and future client demands, building participant demand models to accurately forecast demand and supply dynamics
  • Strong background in leading teams and managing high impact cross-functional initiatives
  • Operational Leadership: Proven ability to design and execute scalable operational frameworks for global workforces or data pipelines
  • Training & Development: Experience in designing and implementing training, certification, and upskilling programs for technical or specialized roles
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Proficiency in analyzing performance metrics and using insights to drive improvements
  • Collaboration & Communication: Skilled at managing stakeholders and aligning cross-functional teams toward shared objectives
  • AI Knowledge: Familiarity with AI/ML lifecycle processes, including data labeling, annotation, and ethical considerations in human data operations

  • Experience in managing global crowdsourcing, gig-economy, or remote workforce platforms
  • Knowledge of Prolific’s platform and participant ecosystem, including task complexity and curation processes, whilst ensuring the highest standard of human data for our customers
