Our client is a growing Contractor who works predominately in the Rail Sector. They have a reputation for delivery quality projects and an excellent HSE record. Due to a combination of succession planning and securing an extensive forward order book, they are now looking to appoint a HSE leader to provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring a safety-first approach that safeguards health and protects the environment across the entire project lifecycle.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide HSE leadership, advice, and support at each project lifecycle stage, including Tender, Design, Construction, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), and Handover
  • Act as the primary HSE focal point for all for clients and customers, representing the company on relevant industry panels
  • Foster an ethos of collaboration and shared purpose across projects, driving HSE objectives and targets
  • Interact regularly with the Leadership team to produce updates and reports that highlight trends and variances

Requirements

  • A relevant degree and/or a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification)/ Relevant professional membership, with CMIOSH status preferred
  • A proven track record of holding a senior SHEQ role for a substantial period, including experience managing a team closely aligned with a project delivery function
  • Strong working experience operating at a strategic level, with a history of developing and implementing key programmes in the areas of Environment, Quality, and Sustainability
