Job Description

Story Plant are looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking Head of Health & Safety to lead our safety strategy and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental (HSE) performance across all plant, geotechnical and workshop operations. You’ll provide expert guidance, constructive challenge and solution focused support to our operational teams. You’ll ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards, develop and embed our Safety Management System, championing a proactive, positive safety culture and engagement throughout the business. This is a role for a visible leader who enjoys being hands on—someone who can inspire confidence, coach others, and continually drive improvements in how we work safely.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead safety strategy
  • Ensure highest standards of health, safety and environmental (HSE) performance across all plant, geotechnical and workshop operations
  • Provide expert guidance, constructive challenge and solution focused support to operational teams
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards

Requirements

  • Experienced HSQE professional
  • Worked in a highly regulated environment—ideally rail or infrastructure
  • Holds NEBOSH or equivalent
  • Chartered IOSH status
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills
  • UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel
