The Head of Finance will lead the finance & accounting function for the group, guiding financial strategy, ensuring robust controls, managing risk and providing timely, insightful reporting to support decision-making at board and executive level. This role demands strong technical expertise in property / development finance, excellent leadership, and a commercial mindset aligned with the company’s growth ambitions.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute the group’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives
Oversee full-set accounting, consolidation of financials, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management across the group and its projects
Provide financial analysis, key-metrics reporting and business partnering to senior management and project teams
Ensure robust internal controls, compliance with Malaysian accounting standards (M FRS), tax regulations, and development-industry specific requirements
Manage project financing, land-acquisition costing, development budgets, margin monitoring and risk assessment
Lead treasury activities including funding strategy, bank/finance house liaison, debt management and working-capital optimisation
Oversee audit/ external-advisor relationships and ensure an efficient annual audit process
Build, lead and mentor a high-performing finance team
foster continuous improvement, systems optimisation and digital finance transformation
Support investor / stakeholder communication (if applicable) and handle any ad-hoc strategic financial initiatives, M&A or joint ventures
Requirements:
Minimum 10-15 years of post-qualification experience
At least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role (e.g., Finance Director / Head of Finance) – preferably within the property development or real-estate sector
Strong track-record in development-project finance, budgeting/forecasting and managing full-set group accounts
Sound knowledge of Malaysian financial and tax regulations, MFRS, property-development accounting
Excellent strategic thinking, commercial acumen, business partnering skills and the ability to present to senior management
Proven leadership in building and developing teams
good change-management and systems-optimisation experience
High integrity, strong communication skills (English fluency
Bahasa Malaysia preferred), able to work in a dynamic growth-oriented environment
Bachelor Degree and Above
Nice to have:
Experience in mixed-use / residential development companies in Malaysia
Familiarity with land-acquisition costing, GDV modelling, development-profit margin analysis
Exposure to joint-venture financing, project funding from banks/financial institutions
Experience in digital finance tools / ERP systems
