Lead the Exposure Management function for Polo Managing Agency (PMA) and its managed syndicates. Support the Director of Underwriting in developing and delivering high-quality exposure management services to both internal stakeholders and external clients. To be responsible for the Exposure Management function at PMA, reporting to the Director of Underwriting. To own and implement PMA’s Exposure Management Framework, including policies, procedures, systems and reporting, and the appropriate implementation across the agency as well as managed syndicates. To provide assistance to managed syndicates in line with PMA’s exposure management framework to help ensure that all regulatory obligations and deadlines are met.
Job Responsibility:
Oversight of the management of catastrophe exposure in line with agreed risk appetites and tolerances
Identifying, building and implementing appropriate tools to support effective and efficient exposure data capture, management and use
Implementing PMA’s risk-based framework for exposure quantification and monitoring, to support downstream decision making and reporting
Ensuring appropriate resource is in place to meet the business needs, including strategic projects, regular deliverables and research and development
Oversight and development of PMA’s delivery against Lloyd’s Catastrophe Exposure Principles (2a/b)
Supporting Polo’s managed syndicates in: Defining and maintaining an appropriate cat view of risk methodology
Implementing appropriate risk-based validation of the cat view of risk
Maintaining a materially complete representation of cat in the syndicate view of risk
Adopting a robust risk-based framework for managing changes to cat view of risk and exposure management methodologies
Maintaining consistent understanding, use and continual development of cat view of risk outputs
Requirements:
Extensive experience in the Lloyd’s market in an exposure management related role
Excellent level of IT skills, including exposure management modelling software
Self-motivated and proactive
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively with others and establish strong relationships both internally and externally
