Job Description

Boden Group are proud to be working with a leading FM provider to recruit a senior Hard FM leader for a high-profile acute hospital PFI contract. This is a pivotal role with full accountability for service delivery, performance, and contract strategy within a live healthcare environment. This is more than a maintenance role. You will take ownership of a complex Hard FM operation, leading engineering teams, driving performance, and playing a key role in the PFI contract handback process. You will operate as a senior figure on site, influencing stakeholders, shaping strategy, and ensuring services are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead delivery of all planned and reactive Hard FM services across electrical, mechanical and fabric disciplines
  • Take full ownership of financial performance across a £15m+ budget
  • Build strong relationships with the Trust, SPV and key stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement, service transformation and operational excellence
  • Ensure full compliance with HTMs, HBNs, statutory regulations and H&S standards
  • Lead the PFI handback and site condition audit process, managing outcomes via CAFM
  • Develop, mentor and lead a high-performing team (30+ staff)
  • Act as deputy to the Contract Director for all Estates matters

Requirements

  • Proven senior leadership experience within Hard FM, ideally in healthcare/PFI environments
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing large budgets (£15m+)
  • In-depth knowledge of building services engineering systems and healthcare compliance standards
  • Professional membership (or working towards) with bodies such as IHEEM, IET, RICS or CIBSE
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capability
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or higher)
