Job Description

At Design Hotels, we empower our global community of independent member hotels through innovative commercial strategies, powerful distribution platforms, and tailored support. As Head of Distribution Technology – Americas, you will lead all aspects of distribution systems and support across the Americas region, with a primary focus on the United States and Mexico. You will oversee the implementation and optimization of all relevant CRS platforms, including SynXis and MARSHA, ensuring seamless connectivity, operational excellence, and consistent support for our member hotels in the region. As a senior leader within the regional commercial organization, you will be responsible for shaping and executing distribution strategy in close collaboration with the Head of Commercial Strategy – Americas, the Account Director – Americas, and regional Sales Teams. You will also serve as the primary liaison between the global Distribution Technology team in Berlin and the Americas region, translating global initiatives into regional action and ensuring member hotel satisfaction and system performance

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the overall distribution technology strategy and operations for all Design Hotels member properties in the Americas region
  • Represent the region in global Distribution Technology discussions, contributing to product roadmap development, service enhancements, and rollout strategies
  • Align distribution initiatives with regional commercial goals, identifying opportunities to enhance hotel visibility, performance, and revenue via distribution channels
  • Ensure best-in-class implementation, configuration, and ongoing optimization of core CRS systems (SynXis and MARSHA) and related Marriott tools (HPP, IMS, GXP, Product Catalog, etc.) by working with the implementation team in Berlin
  • Oversee integration and troubleshooting for CRS, PMS, RMS, and OTA platforms to ensure accurate inventory, rate, and content distribution across all channels
  • Drive performance improvements and elevate member hotel user experience on Marriott.com, SynXis Booking Engine (Hotelwebsite.com), and designhotels.com
  • Build, lead, and develop the Americas Distribution Technology team, including Distribution Manager(s), Coordinator(s) and intern(s), fostering a culture of collaboration, expertise, and accountability
  • Oversee resource planning, team training, workload allocation, and performance management to ensure strong service levels and hotel satisfaction
  • Serve as a senior escalation point and ensure prompt and effective resolution of complex technical or operational issues
  • Lead the refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) specific to the Americas, ensuring alignment with global standards while addressing regional needs, particularly Marriott system processes
  • Monitor and analyse support trends through the ticketing system
  • identify opportunities for automation, service improvement, and team efficiency
  • Collaborate with the global Distribution Technology team to drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and service delivery
  • Work in close alignment with the Head of Commercial Strategy – Americas, Account Director – Americas, and regional Sales Teams to ensure distribution efforts support broader commercial objectives
  • Support cross-departmental initiatives by providing distribution insights, training, and strategic input to enhance member hotel performance and satisfaction
  • Serve as a regional advocate for member hotels, ensuring their technical needs and expectations are addressed both locally and globally

Requirements

  • Comprehensive operational and technical experience with SynXis
  • Comprehensive operational and technical experience with MARSHA
  • Fluent in English
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred
  • Strong market knowledge from a revenue management and distribution perspective (including channels, fiscalization, and market practices)
  • Familiarity with Revenue Management and Property Management Systems (preferably Opera, Mews, HMS/Infor, though not mandatory)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • At least 3 years of team leadership experience in a multicultural environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience partnering with commercial, revenue management, and hotel operations teams
  • Ability to mentor and develop talent within the team
