Join the Citi Integrated Digital Assets Platform (CIDAP), a strategic, firm-wide initiative transforming financial market infrastructure. We are a global team dedicated to developing institutional-grade products and services for the tokenization, custody, financing, and trading of digital assets, redefining the future of finance. We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Head of Digital Assets Platform Engineering for CIDAP. This hands-on leader will be responsible for the complete technical strategy, architectural design, and delivery of our institutional-grade digital assets platform. You will drive engineering excellence, mentor a world-class team, and collaborate with product and business leaders to build and scale a foundational platform for Citi's future.

Job Responsibility

  • Global Engineering Leadership: Lead, manage, and scale a high-performing, global engineering organization, providing mentorship and technical guidance
  • Technical Vision & Architecture: Define the long-term technical vision, architecture, and strategy for the digital assets platform, making critical decisions on technology stacks, scalability, security, and resiliency
  • Platform Delivery & Execution: Drive end-to-end execution of the engineering roadmap, overseeing the software development lifecycle (SDLC) from concept to production, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of robust and scalable solutions
  • Engineering Excellence: Champion best-in-class engineering practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps/SRE principles, and a culture of quality, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the senior engineering partner to the Head of DA Solutions, business leaders, and other stakeholders, translating complex business requirements into actionable engineering plans
  • Talent Management: Attract, hire, and retain top-tier engineering talent globally, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative engineering culture
  • Risk, Security & Compliance: Embed security and compliance into the platform's DNA, ensuring adherence to Citi's stringent risk management, control, and regulatory standards
  • DLT Center of Excellence Partnership: Collaborate with Citi’s DLT Centre of Excellence to ensure best practices in governance, risk management, standardization, and tooling

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in the software industry, including leadership roles (e.g., Director, Head of Engineering) managing globally distributed teams
  • 10+ years’ experience managing and scaling engineering and architecture organizations across multiple international locations
  • 5+ years of proven hands-on experience with blockchain technologies, including Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), smart contracts, digital asset custody, and cryptographic principles
  • Experience with both private and public blockchain networks
  • Significant experience in Financial Technology (FinTech)
  • Extensive knowledge of digital assets, market trends, and related regulatory developments
  • Strong and diverse technical background with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and influence engineering decisions
  • Vast experience with cloud architectures, especially public cloud offerings
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Financial industry experience required
  • Securities Services/Custody background is a plus
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
