Job Description

A well-capitalised, international renewable energy platform is looking to appoint a Head of Greenfield Development to lead and scale its UK development function. This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for shaping development strategy, building capability, and driving projects from origination through to FID across solar PV, onshore wind and co-located storage. The opportunity: You will take ownership of the greenfield pipeline and sit at the centre of growth decision-making, working closely with executive leadership, investment teams and delivery functions. The remit blends strategy with execution and requires someone comfortable setting direction while staying close to the detail.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and execute the long-term greenfield development strategy aligned with portfolio growth targets
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team covering development, land, planning, grid and external advisors
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle from origination to FID, ensuring consistency, pace and quality of outcomes
  • Set portfolio prioritisation frameworks, budgets, governance and stage-gate processes
  • Own senior stakeholder engagement with landowners, planning authorities, communities and partners
  • Provide development input into investment cases, valuations, JV structures and acquisition opportunities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on development risk, opportunity and regulatory landscape.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in UK renewable energy project development
  • Proven track record taking multiple projects through planning to FID
  • Strong understanding of UK planning, land and grid processes
  • Demonstrable leadership capability, either through line management or leading complex, multi-disciplinary programmes
  • Commercially astute, able to operate credibly with investors and executives
  • Experience across solar, wind and or storage strongly preferred.
