Job Responsibility
Lead the MFL department, managing staff performance and professional development
Set the strategic direction for the MFL curriculum (KS3-KS5)
Be accountable for teaching standards and student attainment
Use student data to track progress and drive departmental improvement
Manage the departmental budget and resources
Lead and develop the extra-curricular and enrichment programme
Ensure full departmental compliance with safeguarding and all school policies
Requirements
A degree in French, Spanish, or a related languages field
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Significant experience as a secondary MFL Teacher
Proven leadership experience within a school (e.g., Second in Department, Key Stage Lead)
A strong track record of improving student attainment and exam results in MFL
Experience in curriculum design and strategic departmental planning
Skill in analysing student data to inform teaching strategies
