Head of Data

• Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing data organization that spans engineering, ML infrastructure, and analytics
• Define and execute a company-wide data strategy that aligns platform, product, and AI/ML needs
• Manage key vendor and technology partnerships to accelerate EarnIn’s data capabilities
• Champion a data-driven culture by empowering teams to experiment, learn, and make confident, insight-led decisions
• Ensure the data platform is reliable, observable, and cost-efficient, giving teams clear visibility into the performance and economics of their workloads
• Collaborate with product, engineering, finance, risk, marketing, and operations to deliver impactful, well-governed data solutions
• Shape technical direction across the company to ensure data is treated and leveraged as a strategic asset
• Drive roadmap planning, cross-functional initiatives, and operational execution with clarity and rigor

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, infrastructure, and systems
• 5+ years of building and leading engineering teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent experience
• Deep expertise with distributed systems (Spark, Flink), event-driven pipelines (Kafka), and cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Strong understanding of database design across SQL and NoSQL ecosystems
• Solid experience with CI/CD, Terraform, Git, and modern data orchestration
• Proven ability to implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• Excellent communication skills and influence across technical and executive teams

Experience with Scala and Databricks is a plus
