The Head of Data will be responsible for leading and scaling the Data organisation, setting the data strategy, and ensuring that data, analytics, and insights are core enablers of business decision-making across the company. This role owns the end-to-end data function, from data infrastructure and analytics to metrics, modelling, and business insights, and partners closely with senior leadership to drive impact at scale.
Job Responsibility:
Define and execute the company’s data strategy, covering analytics, data modelling, metrics, experimentation, and data infrastructure, aligned with business objectives
Establish clear data principles, standards, and best practices to ensure high data quality, reliability, and usability across the organisation
Drive the evolution of the data platform to support scale, performance, and growing analytical complexity
Lead, grow, and develop a high-performing Data organisation of ~25 people, including Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts, Scientists, and related roles
Build strong managers and senior ICs, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
Recruit, hire, and onboard top talent as the organisation scales
Own the company’s metrics and KPI framework, ensuring consistent definitions, governance, and alignment across teams
Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Risk, Operations, Marketing and Commercial teams to translate business questions into robust analytical solutions
Enable data-informed decision-making at all levels of the organisation, from operational teams to executive leadership
Act as a trusted partner and advisor to senior leaders and department heads
Clearly communicate insights, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
Balance short-term business needs with long-term platform and organisational health
Improve data literacy across the company and establish a shared data vocabulary to enable more efficient, aligned decision-making
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in data-related roles
3+ years in a senior leadership or management position
Proven experience leading and scaling data teams in a startup or high-growth environment
Deep understanding of modern data ecosystems, including: Analytics and BI Data modelling and metrics design Data infrastructure and pipelines
Strong intuition for what “good” looks like in data quality, metrics, and decision support
Ability to engage deeply with technical discussions without needing to be hands-on day-to-day
Strong business mindset, with experience translating business goals into measurable outcomes and KPIs
Experience in FinTech, B2C, exchanges, or financial services environments
Ability to work autonomously and proactively drive strategy and execution
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a bias toward impact
