Are you ready to lead our flagship A Level provision at Lewes? Do you want to shape confident, independent learners who are ready for the next stage of their academic or professional journey? ESC is seeking an exceptional Head of Curriculum A Levels to lead our Lewes provision. The Lewes campus contains our flagship A Level department and plays a central role in shaping the academic identity of the College Group. Working with the Director of A Levels, you will ensure that our A Level students are successfully recruited, expertly taught, well supported and achieve strong outcomes. You will lead a culture that develops students into independent thinkers; intellectually curious, resilient and academically disciplined, who are well prepared for competitive HE, apprenticeships or employment. A pivotal management role combining strategic oversight with operational rigour and active teaching. It will suit a credible academic leader who understands what excellent A Level provision looks like and has the confidence to raise standards while developing others.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading and managing A Level curriculum teams, including performance management, coaching and development
  • Driving high standards in teaching, learning and assessment through quality assurance and improvement planning
  • Monitoring and improving attendance, behaviour, progress and attainment across all elements of Study Programmes
  • Shaping a curriculum culture: academic independence, critical thinking and strong progression outcomes

Requirements:

  • Successful leadership experience within post-16 education, ideally including management of teaching staff
  • A strong track record of improving learner outcomes through effective quality assurance and performance management
  • Secure understanding of A Level standards, curriculum design and assessment practice
  • A relevant degree and teaching qualification
