Job Description:

The Head of Controller is responsible for leading Grab Indonesia's financial controllership function across all business verticals. The role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with IFRS, PSAK, and Indonesian tax regulations, and a strong internal control environment. Acting as a key partner to Regional Finance and local management, this position safeguards financial governance while driving process efficiency and automation. Moreover, the Head of Controller will play an integral part in business partnering with various stakeholders including operations, strategy, marketing, risk and and compliance, and other departments on driving business and finance decisions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes across all entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Oversee statutory, PCAOB, and internal audits, ensuring full compliance and audit readiness
  • Maintain a robust internal control framework aligned with Grab Group policies and local regulations
  • Partner with tax team to ensure compliance with Indonesian tax, accounting, and financial reporting standards
  • Partner with Regional Finance and FP&A teams to align on accounting treatment and reporting requirements
  • Partner with Business Owners in new business initiatives, restructuring, and regulatory changes from a financial control perspective
  • Oversee treasury functions ensuring good cash flow management and cost of funds optimisation
  • Lead and develop a controllership team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and digital transformation

Requirements:

  • A minimum of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA/CA/ACCA qualification preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial control, accounting, and/or audit, ideally in multinational or tech-driven environments
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, PSAK, tax regulations, and internal controls
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle/SAP/Workday) and financial automation tools
  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification required
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in financial management roles, including previous experience as a Controller or similar senior financial position
  • Proven track record in a multinational or large corporate environment
  • Advanced financial management and accounting skills, with in-depth knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and local Indonesian financial regulations
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
