A leading, award-winning Malaysian property developer is seeking a Head of Contract to serve as a strategic pillar of their leadership team. Designed for a seasoned commercial strategist, this role requires a master of Malaysian construction law and project feasibility. You will be the final authority on safeguarding project viability, mitigating high-stakes risk, and mentoring a high-performing team within a fast-paced, excellence-driven environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing Contracts team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Lead the procurement and tendering ecosystem, conducting rigorous feasibility studies and risk-reward analyses tailored to the Malaysian market
  • Oversee the drafting and negotiation of complex legal frameworks, ensuring every document is a shield for the company's interests and compliant with local regulations
  • Architect and implement SOPs for both pre- and post-contract phases to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Manage the full spectrum of post-contract activities, including variations, claims management, and strategic project close-outs
  • Act as the commercial bridge between Project, Finance, and Procurement teams to ensure budgetary and timeline alignment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil & Structural Engineering, or a related professional discipline
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian construction laws, PAM/FIDIC/PWD contract forms, and local dispute resolution mechanisms
  • Exceptional ability to conduct feasibility studies and risk-reward analyses, ensuring project viability remains aligned with shifting market conditions
  • Extensive experience in senior contract management within the Malaysian property development or construction sectors, with a proven track record of steering high-value projects
