Job Description:

InPlanet is a mission-driven, remote-first ClimateTech startup headquartered between Germany and Brazil with hubs in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, New York and London. We're scaling Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) in tropical agriculture as a powerful method to remove carbon, regenerate soils, and transform the way food is grown in the tropics. Our vision is simple but bold: to sequester gigatons of CO2 while regenerating tropical soils in order to create a livable planet with nutritious food and healthy ecosystems for future generations. We're doing this in partnership with farmers, scientists, and industry leaders - and we're growing fast. Our company culture blends people-first care and performance excellence. The Rocket represents our ambition and drive; the Heart symoolizes our focus on empathy, integrity, and collective impact. We're proud of our globally diverse team and inclusive culture. Our teams span across continents, but our boots are firmly on the ground in Brazil - where the real climate impact happens. You can check out independent reviews by other candidates on Glassdoor to check how people find interviewing with us. Check out our Culture page here. About the Role InPlanet is entering an exciting phase of scale. We are issuing significantly more carbon credits this year and anticipate continued rapid growth. To support this, we are hiring a Head of Carbon to lead the operational, project management, and people management functions of our growing carbon credit team. • Support high-level carbon strategy and contribute to scaling frameworks, soliciting expert contributions from the wider carbon team
  • Oversee forecasting, projections, and credit issuance reporting processes
  • Help shape and evolve the organisational structure of the carbon team as the company grows and appropriately allocate resources

Requirements:

  • Strong project management background, ideally gained in a startup or scale-up environment
  • Experience managing teams, and setting objectives and balancing priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • You are a scientist by training, with a scientific and/or technical background in carbon, environmental science or geochemistry sufficient to understand carbon crediting concepts and engage with subject matter experts

  • A humble individual with a willingness to learn
  • A proactive communicator who can work across departments and manage up and down effectively
