Lead strategic growth initiatives in Japan's dynamic pharmaceutical market – hybrid role! Our client is a leading global pharmaceutical company with a strong presence in Japan. You will spearhead the company's business development strategy in Japan, identifying and executing strategic partnerships, licensing deals, and M&A activities. You will build and nurture key relationships with stakeholders across the industry, while contributing to the leadership team. You will also provide strategic guidance on market access and pricing strategies for new products.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and execute the Japan business development strategy
Lead deal sourcing, due diligence, negotiation, and execution of strategic transactions
Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and develop new opportunities
Support pricing and market access strategies for in-licensed or acquired products
Develop business cases and financial models
Assess risks and mitigation strategies for potential deals
Represent the company at industry events
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field
MBA or advanced degree preferred
8+ years of experience in business development within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
Strong understanding of drug development and commercialization processes
Proven track record of successful deal-making and strategic partnerships
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously
Fluency in Japanese and English
Experience working in a global pharmaceutical company is highly desirable
Experience with market access and pricing strategies
