Job Description:

Head of Business Development, Data Centres. As Head of Business Development, Data Centres, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s Data Centre sector growth strategy. Under the direction of the Executive Director, you will be responsible for developing new relationships with key stakeholders, identifying new opportunities for Designer Group as well as nurturing relationships with existing clients.

Job Responsibility:

  • Contribute to the Data Centre Leadership team, focusing on the delivery of a range of strategic business objectives
  • Be an influencer and role model, empowering project personnel and always promoting Designer Group’s values
  • Work collaboratively with other directors and senior Operations colleagues to foster productive, collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and potential clients
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth
  • Explore and identify opportunities and new prospects in the Data Centre market, forging new partnerships
  • Push the door open with new, prospective partners, showcasing the Designer Group offering, delivery achievements and competency in the Data Centre arena
  • Work collaboratively to identify and capitalise on business development opportunities
  • Work with the Group Managing Director and Executive Directors in delivering on and adapting as necessary the Business Development strategy within the Data Centre sector
  • Build and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with key clients
  • Position and communicate the Designer Group offering to customers and senior stakeholders, utilising the agreed brand rules and templates to ensure consistency
  • Support new business bids and tender submissions, working collaboratively with the Designer Group Estimation Centre of Excellence and other Group teams
  • Contribute to contract negotiations, ensuring optimal commercial terms, aligning client needs with service offerings
  • Monitor market trends, technological innovation and regulatory trends in the Data Centre sector, updating the business regularly
  • Complete competitor analysis and profile reports
  • Conduct industry research
  • Represent Designer Group at industry conferences, trade shows and networking events, enhancing brand visibility and market presence
  • Keep ahead of the industry and influence the thinking of stakeholders, both external and internal

Requirements:

  • A Business Development Leader with a proven track record in the Data Centre sector
  • Strong technical understanding of Data Centre technology
  • A relationship management champion
  • A trusted partner in the industry with an established network
  • A comfortable collaborator with experience of diverse teams and complex client relationships
  • Effective networking skills and the ability to follow through to identify opportunities
  • An ability to travel or relocate to a Central European location as required
  • Clear appreciation of accountability by results
  • At least five years experience of working in a similar role
  • Detailed understanding of the Data Centre sector in Europe
