Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive beverage strategy aligned with ALH Hotel Group's vision and objectives, ensuring consistent quality, creativity, and profitability across all properties
  • Lead the creation, refinement, and diversification of beverage ranges that cater to varying pub segmentations, guest preferences, trends, and local market demands, while maintaining a focus on excellence and sustainability
  • Identify and introduce new and exciting beverage concepts, trends, and data and technologies that elevate our guests' experiences, reinforcing ALH Hotel Group's reputation as a pioneer in the hospitality industry
  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with beverage suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, optimizing costs, and ensuring timely and reliable deliveries to support uninterrupted operations
  • Work closely with the finance team to develop budgets, monitor expenses, manage rebates & trading terms and analyze financial data, making informed decisions to maximize profitability and minimise costs while delivering exceptional value to guests
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant local, state, and national regulations pertaining to beverage service, alcohol licensing, health and safety, and environmental sustainability
  • Monitor and respond to guest feedback, reviews, and trends, leveraging insights to enhance beverage offerings and service delivery, and ensure exceptional guest satisfaction
  • Work closely with the Food team, marketing, operations and Retail teams to create integrated campaigns, events, and promotions that enhance the overall guest experience and drive revenue
  • Generate regular reports and present data-driven insights to senior management, evaluating the performance of beverage initiatives, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing actionable recommendations
  • Develop talent pipelines and future leaders by providing regular feedback, creating meaningful development plans, and ensuring succession plans

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in a senior commercial role, ideally within beverages and the hospitality industry
  • Proven ability to manage a P/L and ability to manage the day to day operation while also driving the longer term strategy
  • Strong understanding of category management principles, promotions, and product marketing
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to forge strong relationships & partnering with internal teams and external suppliers
  • Experience in data analysis, market research, and insights generation
  • In-depth knowledge of beverage trends, industry best practices, and regulatory standards
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and develop teams
  • Adept at budgeting, cost control, and leveraging beverage offerings for maximum profitability
  • Creative mindset and a passion for innovation in beverage offerings
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Google suite - sheets, slides and docs , and other relevant software applications
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics principles is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
