Job Description:

This role serves as the single point of contact on all aspects of Allianz Life general account asset manager management, working closely with various stakeholders to ensure operational effectiveness and adherence to broader investment strategies. It involves conducting investment research, manager selection, review processes, and collaboration between internal teams such as AIM US, Allianz Life, and AIM Global.

Job Responsibility:

Conducting in-depth cross-sector investment research to guide portfolio allocations and investment decision-making
Engaging on asset class deep dives and maintaining watch lists for concerned credits
Periodically updating portfolio play-book for AIM and external stakeholders
Coaching and mentoring more junior investment research professionals
Providing regulatory oversight and coordinating private assets pledging to FHLB for back-up liquidity support
Manager selection, onboarding, monitoring and review across SMAs and funds/rated notes
Leading reviews including investment performance, firm/enterprise reviews, operational aspects
AM benchmarking and competitive intelligence including annual insurance peer reviews
Partnering closely with AZ Life Legal Team for SMA and fund docs review.

Requirements:

8+ years of experience: Relevant insurance company investment experience
Strong leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills (story-telling ability with market and portfolio data)
Four year degree required: Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related technical field
Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI)
You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.
