Job Description:

The Head of Application Management is a key role in our IT organization, overseeing the development, maintenance, and optimization of software applications of the customers (OEs) across the CEE region. This position requires a strategic vision for technology applications in a multinational environment, along with the ability to implement and manage these applications effectively across the countries (Austria, Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic).

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing application management team across the CEE region
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the teams as well as an agile mindset and organization
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Develop a comprehensive application strategy with the involvement of the customers that incorporates emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Oversee the entire application lifecycle, from concept to deployment and beyond
  • Ensure the scalability and security of applications to meet evolving customers’ business needs
  • Regularly assess application performance and implement enhancements for better efficiency
  • Establish a robust process for application issue resolution and downtime minimization
  • Drive the adoption of automation in application management processes
  • Plan and execute large-scale application development and integration projects
  • Ensure project milestones are met and align with customer goals
  • Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project pitfalls
  • Build strong relationships with the customers (OEs), AZTEC internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to translate complex IT concepts
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships to ensure favorable terms
  • Develop and manage the budget for application development, maintenance, and procurement
  • Optimize resource allocation to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Monitor and report on expenditure, ensuring transparency and accountability
  • Ensure all applications comply with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards in application delivery
  • Stay abreast of compliance changes and adjust application management practices accordingly
  • Encourage and oversee research into new technologies and methodologies
  • Implement innovative solutions to enhance application functionality and user experience
  • Stay informed about industry trends to keep the organization at the forefront of technology
  • Work closely with other teams, such as infrastructure and security, to ensure a cohesive technology strategy
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and ensure IT alignment
  • Promote a culture of cross-functional cooperation and shared objectives
  • Develop training programs for team members on new technologies and best practices
  • Encourage continuous professional development and certification of team members
  • Identify skill gaps and implement strategies to address them

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in application management, including significant leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of application development and maintenance, including understanding of software development life cycle, project management methodologies, and agile frameworks
  • Fluency in English
  • knowledge of regional languages (Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, or German) is a plus
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a multicultural environment, and strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Willingness to travel within the CEE region as required
