Job Responsibility

  • Report into the Vice-president Engineering – Aircraft Design and Development
  • Provide technical leadership to support primary company goals including program oversight, production ramp-up, cost improvement initiatives and in-service fleet performance improvements
  • Oversee integration and coordination with multiple departments, functions and suppliers
  • Act as the engineering leader with key business Leadership teams on the program
  • Have Overall responsibility for Aircraft Platform and coordination with the respective IPDT’s
  • Interface with Program Management Office for the Type Design IPDT activities
  • Set the priorities for the associated IPDTs to ensure execution of the technical aspects of safety and configuration
  • Type Design Responsibility and act as the Applicant with Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) and represent engineering at the aircraft platform Continuing Airworthiness Review Board (CARB) activities
  • Manage Cross Functional Engineering and Supplier Teams, supported by the Engineering Functional Organization and their respective fully deployed engineering teams, and the Office of the Fellows, in the execution of respective aircraft platform updates and derivatives, including in-service and production support
  • Coordinate with the Office of the Fellows for technical guidance and validation to resolve

Requirements

  • University bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Aircraft Design and Integration, including demonstrated experience across multiple disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience in leading IPDTs on one or more aircraft development programs
  • Experience of communicating with executive level and external stakeholders

Nice to have

Experience as Transport Canada DAD or FAA DER
