The Head of AI – Commercial is responsible for defining and delivering the AI strategy across Commercial functions, driving measurable improvements in revenue enablement, customer insights, and overall commercial performance through the application of AI and data-driven solutions. This role operates within the enterprise AI Centre of Excellence (CoE), partnering closely with Commercial leadership to identify high-impact opportunities, deliver AI initiatives at pace, and scale solutions across the organisation. The focus is on enhancing decision-making, improving customer engagement, and enabling more effective execution of commercial strategies through responsible AI.
Job Responsibility
Define and execute the AI strategy and roadmap for the Commercial domain aligned to enterprise priorities
Partner with Commercial leadership to identify high-value opportunities across sales, marketing, customer engagement, and revenue optimisation
Build and maintain a prioritised pipeline of AI initiatives focused on improving commercial performance and scalability
Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on AI-driven opportunities and their impact on business outcomes
Own end-to-end delivery of Commercial AI initiatives from discovery through to deployment and adoption
Lead cross-functional teams (data, engineering, product, and Commercial SMEs) to deliver AI solutions at pace
Ensure solutions are scalable, reusable, and aligned with enterprise AI platform standards
Drive adoption and integration of AI solutions into commercial workflows to deliver sustained outcomes
Lead the design and delivery of AI-enabled solutions that: Enhance customer and market insight generation, Improve targeting, segmentation, and engagement strategies, Enable more effective identification of commercial opportunities, Support data-driven decision-making across sales and marketing processes
Focus on improving visibility, consistency, and effectiveness across commercial activities through advanced analytics and AI
Ensure all AI solutions align to enterprise governance frameworks, including risk classification and approval processes
Partner with Legal, Security, and Data Protection teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and policy standards
Champion responsible AI principles including transparency, fairness, and appropriate human oversight
Ensure appropriate controls are in place for AI solutions that influence customer-facing or revenue-related decisions
Act as the Commercial domain lead within the AI CoE operating model
Collaborate with central teams responsible for AI platform, standards, and monitoring
Work with business stakeholders to drive use case identification, prioritisation, and value realisation
Contribute to governance forums and cross-functional alignment on AI delivery and adoption
Define and track KPIs for AI initiatives, including: Revenue enablement and commercial performance impact, Effectiveness of customer engagement and targeting, Process optimisation and improved decision-making, Adoption and utilisation of AI solutions across Commercial teams
Ensure delivery of measurable outcomes that enhance scalability, insight quality, and consistency
Drive initiatives that enable Commercial teams to focus on higher-value strategic activities
Requirements
Significant experience leading AI, data, or digital transformation initiatives within Commercial, Sales, Marketing, or related domains
Strong understanding of commercial processes, customer lifecycle management, and revenue models
Proven track record delivering AI or data-driven solutions at scale
Experience working within governance and regulated environments
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness
