Job Description

Are you an experienced accounting professional with strong management skills and a keen eye for quality, structure and process optimization? At APCOA, we are looking for an experienced Head of Accounting, who will have the overall responsibility for the accounting function and for ensuring a solid, consistent and timely financial foundation for our Danish business. You will have a central role in our finance department and will be responsible for both management, professional quality and the daily operation of the accounting area. Your workplace will be at our head office in Vejle, and you will report to the Nordic Finance Director. The role clearly combines management responsibility with continued hands-on responsibility and close involvement in key accounting processes.

Job Responsibility

  • Management and organization - Personnel and professional responsibility for the accounting team
  • ensuring clear responsibilities, workflows and priorities
  • ongoing competence development and sparring with the team
  • Accounting and closing - Overall responsibility for month, quarterly and year-end
  • quality assurance of bookkeeping, accruals, reconciliations and accounting figures
  • ensuring compliance with deadlines and accounting standards
  • Process optimization and internal control - Systematic work with process optimization and standardization of accounting processes
  • further development and maintenance of internal controls
  • close collaboration with Finance and other business areas on efficient workflows
  • Reporting, compliance and auditing - Responsibility for reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • overall responsibility for VAT, reconciliations and accounting compliance
  • main contact to the auditor and responsible for audit preparation and implementation

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience from an equivalent level
  • documented management experience with personnel responsibility
  • relevant economic education, e.g. HD(R), cand.merc.aud. or equivalent
  • solid practical experience in accounting, closing, internal controls and cooperation with auditors
