The Head of accounting Hungary leads all regional accounting, reporting, and financial control activities. The role ensures accurate financials, strong compliance, and high‑quality business support while managing and developing local accounting team.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the accounting department, and if needed, participate in accounting activities to meet deadlines
Oversee timely monthly closing, group reporting, and statutory financial statements
Coordinate audits and manage all tax filings with external advisers
Lead budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and financial analysis
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and overall business performance
support corrective actions with operational leaders
Review Capex proposals, track spending, and approve investments within authority
Manage intra‑group reconciliations, stock valuation, treasury operations, and factoring transactions
Maintain strong relationships with auditors, tax advisers, banks, and authorities
Ensure robust internal controls and contribute to continuous process improvement
Manage and develop regional finance teams
Oversee transfer pricing documentation and compliance
Requirements:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
A professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or local equivalent) is a strong asset
5+ years of experience in accounting, ideally in an international or multi‑entity environment
Strong knowledge of IFRS and HUGAAP, plus experience with audits and tax compliance
Proven capability in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and month‑end closing
Experience with treasury, cash flow forecasting, factoring, and intra‑group transactions
Familiarity with transfer pricing and cross‑border financial processes
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing finance teams
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with auditors, tax advisers, banks, and authorities
Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel
Fluency in English and Hungarian
