Job Description:

Our client is an established and growing design, build, and project management company working with the top retailers in the country. The company is profitable and experiencing considerable growth. We are seeking a Head of Finance & Accounting to lead the finance function and manage a team. This role will report to the President. This is an onsite role based in the greater Minneapolis area.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency
  • Support President and ELT with long-term planning and forecasting
  • Collaborate with departmental heads on all areas of budgeting, sales forecasting
  • improving the planning process
  • Prepare annual budgets, work closely with leadership on monthly reporting and guidance
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and coordinating audit activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as MS Dynamics or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team
