Dovehaven Care Homes are recruiting for a Head Housekeeper to join our team at Dovehaven House in Southport. You will be working 36-hours per week on a rota basis between the hours of - 9am - 6pm OR 8am - 5pm and alternate weekend availability is required. The position of Housekeeper requires you to be the first point of contact within the home for all enquiries and work associated with our Domestic/Laundry function. You will supervise the Domestic/Laundry team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are always maintained in the home.
Job Responsibility:
To create and monitor cleaning schedules and duties within the home, sharing best practice and ensuring all duties are completed on time and to the highest possible standards
To conduct audit checks of duties completed within the home and address any issues with standards of work within the Domestic/Laundry Team
To act as Infection Prevention and Control Lead, taking responsibility for doing the utmost to work towards prevention and control of infection within the home
To supervise, instruct and provide help and guidance to the existing Domestic/Laundry Team and to oversee inductions for all new members of the team
To complete the weekly rota for the Domestic/Laundry Team
To oversee the economic purchasing and cleaning stock orders for the home, ensuring efficient stock control at all times
To ensure Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to in the home at all times, sharing best practice within the team and addressing and reporting any issues to the management team where necessary
Ensure confidentiality is maintained with sensitive information relating to our Service Users and home itself
To pass on any safeguarding observations/concerns relating to Service Users or conduct of the team in the home if necessary, to the management team
Ensure we provide a safe, clean, welcoming environment for all Service Users, their families and visitors to the home
Participate in team and resident’s families meetings as they are held in the home
Ensure you are polite and courteous at all times, respecting resident’s privacy and being respectful and obtaining permission when working with and around residents property
To maintain a homely and non-institutional environment as far as possible within the home’s safety protocols
Requirements:
The ability to be compassionate and empathetic in your approach to caring for older people, either through previous roles in social care or in other roles
To be self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
To be dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the Home
