The Head Hostess is the first ambassador of our dining experience, setting the tone for warm, elegant, and intuitive service. This role leads the hostess team in delivering an exceptional welcome, managing reservations and guest flow, and ensuring that every arrival reflects the Four Seasons commitment to genuine hospitality and the Golden Rule. This position requires poise, strong communication skills, and the ability to orchestrate seamless front-of-house operations while nurturing meaningful guest relationships.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the hostess team in delivering a gracious, polished, and personalized guest welcome
Manage reservations, seating charts, and guest flow to optimize comfort, service pacing, and operational efficiency
Greet, escort, and farewell guests with warmth, professionalism, and consistent use of guest names
Answer telephone inquiries, handle reservation requests, and provide accurate information about restaurant services and hotel offerings
Maintain the hostess stand and entrance area to Four Seasons standards, ensuring cleanliness, readiness, and visual appeal
Collaborate closely with Restaurant Manager, Servers, and Culinary teams to ensure smooth communication and optimal guest flow
Anticipate guest needs, manage special requests, and oversee service recovery in a composed and empathetic manner
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of menus, culinary concepts, and special promotions to confidently assist guests
Prepare daily reports related to reservations, VIP arrivals, guest preferences, and booking patterns
Train, coach, and mentor the hostess team to deliver consistent Four Seasons–level engagement
Monitor table setups, and service pacing
support the team in peak moments as needed
Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards across the entrance and greeting areas
Requirements:
1–2 years of front-of-house or hosting experience in luxury hotels, fine dining, or high-end hospitality
leadership experience is an advantage
Fluency in English and Italian
Outstanding communication, personal presentation, and interpersonal skills
ability to connect genuinely with guests from diverse backgrounds
Excellent time management, multitasking capabilities, and the ability to remain calm in high-volume environments
Strong knowledge of reservation systems such as OpenTable
High attention to detail, diplomatic communication, and a polished, professional demeanor
Flexibility to work varying schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
