Job Description:

The Treasurer/Collector’s Office is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Head Clerk to support daily financial and administrative operations. Under the supervision of the Treasurer/Collector or designee, this position performs a variety of clerical, bookkeeping, and customer service duties requiring strong organizational skills, accuracy, and sound judgment. Responsibilities include processing municipal payments, maintaining and reconciling financial records, preparing correspondence and reports, and assisting with tax and excise collections. The Head Clerk will respond to public inquiries in person and by phone, maintain accurate records, and utilize municipal software systems and Microsoft Office applications to support office functions. This role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
