The Treasurer/Collector’s Office is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Head Clerk to support daily financial and administrative operations. Under the supervision of the Treasurer/Collector or designee, this position performs a variety of clerical, bookkeeping, and customer service duties requiring strong organizational skills, accuracy, and sound judgment. Responsibilities include processing municipal payments, maintaining and reconciling financial records, preparing correspondence and reports, and assisting with tax and excise collections. The Head Clerk will respond to public inquiries in person and by phone, maintain accurate records, and utilize municipal software systems and Microsoft Office applications to support office functions. This role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.   • Lead, train and motivate Purchasing Department employees to thoroughly understand all of their duties and responsibilities
  • Take appropriate personnel-related action (i.e. hire, commend, discipline, evaluate, etc.) with Purchasing staff as required
  • Ensure proper authorization has been obtained for all hotel-specific purchasing contracts and conduct, manage and complete competitive bids in accordance with policy and ensure bids are on file where applicable prior to execution of contracts
  • Ensure Management Agreement and all other Purchasing Agreement terms and conditions are fulfilled
  • Monitor the status of slow-moving stocks and ensure a Slow-Moving Stocks Report is circulated monthly to the Director of Finance and the respective Division Heads concerned
