At Santa Marta, our vibrant, Mediterranean, all-day restaurant in Locke de Santa Joana, Lisbon, we’re redefining laid-back dining with confident cooking, bold ingredients, and a kitchen culture built on creativity, quality, and respect. We’re now looking for an inspiring and commercially driven Head Chef to lead the Santa Marta kitchen, develop the menu, and build a high-performing team that delivers consistent, standout food experiences.
Job Responsibility:
Leading, inspiring, and developing the Santa Marta kitchen team
Overseeing menu delivery and seasonal innovation while maintaining brand consistency
Driving food quality, service speed, and consistency across all services
Managing kitchen operations including stock, ordering, labour control, and GP performance
Implementing training and development plans for chefs at all levels
Ensuring full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
Collaborating with restaurant leadership to deliver seamless guest experiences
Representing the brand’s culinary identity and supporting business growth
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume, quality-led restaurant
Strong leadership and team development skills
Passion for pizza, casual dining concepts, and modern hospitality
Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and food costs
A calm, organised, and hands-on leadership style
Fluent English required (Portuguese beneficial but not essential)
