Job Description:

Head Chef position at The St. Regis Tianjin responsible for overall success of daily kitchen operations, exhibiting culinary talents while leading staff and managing all food related functions. Works to improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining operating budget and ensuring consistent, high quality food production.

Job Responsibility:

Accountable for overall success of daily kitchen operations
Personally performs culinary tasks while leading staff
Manages all food related functions
Continually improves guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining operating budget
Supervises all kitchen areas to ensure consistent, high quality product
Guides and develops staff including direct reports
Ensures sanitation and food standards are achieved
Prepares and cooks foods
Reviews and adjusts kitchen systems and procedures
Develops new menus and recipes
Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards
Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and food preparation workers

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
Knowledge of high quality food products, presentations and flavor
Compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
Supervisory experience in kitchen operations
