Job Description

To maintain consistent standards of service, ensuring customer satisfaction while creating a work environment that supports the organisation’s values. To contribute to the profitability of the Deli through operation of effective cost controls and excellent customer service. To create and Develop dishes and products that are tasty, well presented and in keeping with Mac’s Place offering whilst constantly developing new products to remain at the forefront of delivering tasty high-quality food.

Job Responsibility

  • Efficient day to day operations of kitchen function
  • Delivery of food service
  • Systems compliance and delivery of group standards
  • Ensure all customers receive a genuine, warm, friendly, courteous welcome
  • Manage the Deli’s kitchen operations
  • Ensure systems are in place to handle all customer queries promptly and efficiently
  • Empower, encourage and promote employees to make on the spot customer satisfaction decisions
  • Ensure all customer feedback is acted upon in a timely manner
  • Randomly inspect all kitchen & back of house areas on a daily basis
  • Ensure high standards are achieved at all times
  • Ensure highest possible standard of personal hygiene, appearance, body language and conduct of employees
  • Order and control food stock appropriate to forecasted levels
  • Manage the group & HAACP standards for food deliveries
  • Ensure accurate temperature records and food labelling are maintained
  • Ensure kitchen cleaning rotas are adhered to and records kept
  • Ensure kitchen uniform and personal hygiene guidelines are adhered to
  • Ensure daily, weekly and monthly administration is to group standards
  • Ensure only group approved suppliers are used
  • Assist with training and development with departmental managers
  • Ensure all training is recorded
  • Attend training as required
  • Train and develop kitchen brigade to company standards
  • Accept flexible work schedules
  • Provide support in other areas of the Deli
  • Ensure all accident and incidents are investigated and reported
  • Report defective materials and equipment
  • Comply with all health, safety and welfare statutory requirements
  • Assist in recruitment and selection of departmental staff
  • Ensure disciplinary and grievance procedure is adhered to
  • Ensure all employee counseling is documented and passed to HR
  • Work with management team to ensure good morale
  • Ensure all problems are resolved immediately
  • Motivate department personnel
  • Carry out appraisals and job chats
  • Communicate all information with management in a timely manner
  • Ensure department holds daily shift meetings
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Organize a monthly department meeting
  • Ensure every effort is made to promote the Deli and plaza
  • Have knowledge of agreed Deli budgets and results
  • Achieve company food GP and analyse shortfalls
  • Proactively control staffing levels
  • Ensure ordering and stock levels are appropriate to sales levels
  • Ensure substandard food is returned to supplier
  • Check and sign for all deliveries
  • Control wastage and recording of same
  • Ensure Staff Food Policy is adhered to
  • Carry out accurate stock take on a monthly basis
  • Carry out any other reasonable request from management
