Job Description:

Head Butcher position at Kampala Marriott Hotel. Responsible for meat preparation, food safety, inventory management, and assisting with team supervision while upholding Marriott's hospitality standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
  • Check the quantity and quality of deliveries and received products
  • Date delivered boxes and record food and supply deliveries
  • Rotate food in freezer, walk-in cooler, and stockroom prior to the arrival of a delivery
  • Monitor the quality quantity of food that is prepared and the portions
  • Prepare various cuts of meat as required
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
  • Complete safety training and certifications
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Protect company assets
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
