Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct hazard analyses using methodologies like FMEA, HAZOP, and What-If Analysis
  • Develop and implement controls for hazards identified
  • Provide technical expertise on hazardous materials and processes
  • Perform complex hazards analysis assignments in support of the development, testing, and manufacturing of hazardous materials
  • Apply physics-based approach to risk identification and mitigation
  • Support concept, design, and process hazards analyses in response to contract data item requirements and regulatory needs
  • Provide a basis for safety waivers and regulatory interpretation and deviation
  • Often function in a consulting and SME role as it relates to the risks associated with design and development of product and processes using highly hazardous materials
