Hardware Systems Engineer

As a key member of the hardware systems engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the convergence of complex and novel sub-system and product architectures aimed at pushing the state-of-the-art consumer mixed-reality systems. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive and interpret business and operational needs into technical requirements; determine critical interactions between subsystems; and work closely with engineering and field-based operations teams to articulate success criteria. Furthermore, you will execute validation and verification activities for new product integration, including system-level and subsystem testing, to ensure that the hardware systems meet the specified requirements and function correctly in the intended environment. You will work on complex engineering challenges by leveraging a broad understanding of Meta's infrastructure, identifying trends and systemic issues in the hardware fleet, and driving resolutions and risk mitigations. This team supports technical communication with cross-functional teams across industrial design, product design, electrical engineering, displays and optics, partnerships, supply chain, and core technology groups to drive incubation of new technologies from proof of concept through integration into products for mass production. You will also be responsible for mentoring other engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
