Job Description:

Lead a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers, contributing to hands-on design and testing of electronics for the brand's products. Collaborate cross-functionally, support global product deployment, and drive continuous improvement in the electrical product development process.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers
  • assign tasks and provide technical and professional guidance
  • Contribute to hands-on design and testing of electronics (schematics and PCB layout)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Optical, Mechanical, and Software engineering teams
  • Support global product deployment by ensuring all systems and FRUs meet regulatory certification requirements
  • Participate in headcount planning, budgeting, and long-term product roadmap discussions
  • Oversee sustaining engineering efforts
  • Evaluate team resource allocation and progress
  • optimize workflows
  • Drive continuous improvement of the electrical product development process
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure compliance with specifications and quality expectations
  • Own, create, and maintain design documentation
  • Propose and evaluate alternative designs
  • Provide engineering support to Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Installation, and Technical Services

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of hands-on experience in electrical design for consumer or industrial-grade products
  • Minimum 3 years in an engineering leadership role
  • 5+ years of design experience using Altium (or equivalent ECAD software)
  • Strong experience in advanced digital design
  • analog design preferred
  • Proficiency in debugging and validation tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, SPICE simulations)
  • Familiarity with thermal design
  • simulation experience (heat/airflow) is a plus
  • Experience with regulatory certification processes for global products
  • Highly skilled in time management and multitasking
  • Proven ability to evaluate and develop engineering talent
  • P.Eng designation is highly desirable
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Familiarity with formal design and development processes

Nice to have:

  • Experience with video/image processing (FPGA/GPU pipelines)
  • Experience with component obsolescence tools (eg, Silicon Expert)
  • Experience with image compression standards (H.264, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of high-power laser systems, opto-mechanical design, and embedded software
