Job Description:

Lead a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers, contributing to hands-on design and testing of electronics for the brand's products. Collaborate cross-functionally, support global product deployment, and drive continuous improvement in the electrical product development process.

Job Responsibility:

Lead and mentor a team of Electrical Engineers and Designers
assign tasks and provide technical and professional guidance
Contribute to hands-on design and testing of electronics (schematics and PCB layout)
Collaborate cross-functionally with Optical, Mechanical, and Software engineering teams
Support global product deployment by ensuring all systems and FRUs meet regulatory certification requirements
Participate in headcount planning, budgeting, and long-term product roadmap discussions
Oversee sustaining engineering efforts
Evaluate team resource allocation and progress
optimize workflows
Drive continuous improvement of the electrical product development process
Coordinate with vendors to ensure compliance with specifications and quality expectations
Own, create, and maintain design documentation
Propose and evaluate alternative designs
Provide engineering support to Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Installation, and Technical Services

Requirements:

7–10 years of hands-on experience in electrical design for consumer or industrial-grade products
Minimum 3 years in an engineering leadership role
5+ years of design experience using Altium (or equivalent ECAD software)
Strong experience in advanced digital design
analog design preferred
Proficiency in debugging and validation tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, SPICE simulations)
Familiarity with thermal design
simulation experience (heat/airflow) is a plus
Experience with regulatory certification processes for global products
Highly skilled in time management and multitasking
Proven ability to evaluate and develop engineering talent
P.Eng designation is highly desirable
Strong documentation and communication skills
Familiarity with formal design and development processes

Nice to have:

Experience with video/image processing (FPGA/GPU pipelines)
Experience with component obsolescence tools (eg, Silicon Expert)
Experience with image compression standards (H.264, etc.)
Basic understanding of high-power laser systems, opto-mechanical design, and embedded software
